My Impression On The Book King Lear

King Lear was written in 1605 which is one of Shakespeare's four tragedies. Why People in Moscow all Choose nba jerseys And it is derived from a widely known legend in English folk tales. New Year's Day Gift Ideas for Mom The story is about the old King Lear who is portrayed in this play as a self-conceited and narrow-minded old man. You May Pay no Attention to These When Pick ugg boots He gives the country land to his hypocritical elder and second daughters, Regan and Goneril, and banishes the kind and honest daughter Cordelia out of the country. Lisa Cody was forced to run away from home to France with French king who loved her. King Lear himself only retained the king's appellation and 100 attendants, ready to take turns living in two daughters' home in his left age. However, what is beyond his expectation is that his two eldest daughters reveal their abominable countenances after having achieved their purpose, and they drive away their old father, which makes him suffer the pain of being destitute and homeless. Knowing her father's tragic experience, the youngest daughter led her troops to crusade against her two sisters. Unfortunately she failed. After she was taken prisoner, she committed suicide and King Lear also died in great pain and madness. Obviously, the two bad daughters also had no good end.

Because of his vanity, the silly and hypercritical King Lear ruined himself, and what's more, he ruined his youngest daughter Cordelia, who was so kind and innocent. From the point of our view, King Lear deserved the result. But on a second though, it is the saddest thing for an old man to have gone through all this in his late time, not to mention the fact that his kind daughter has died before his own death. However, we have not thought he was an ordinary man, as ordinary people like us. If he did not accept others` advice and truth when he was younger, how could he sit on his own throne untill now, and also how can their country be governed like this? However, due to his usual high positions, long-term living in court where people were all compliant, he was surrounded by people all rushed to his credit for flattery. All of the people or things were turning around him, with his likes and dislikes to be others' likes and dislikes, his right and wrong to be others' right and wrong. Over a long period, he was like an addict. For him, flattery and adulation became necessities in his life and he could not live without encomiastic speech. Ironically, his humanity returns to him when he lost his position and power and undergoing great difficulty. He ending sigh is not for the kingly power, but for his youngest daughter who is driven out of the palace and cursed by him. But he could never recall her gold heart from her eternal sleeping. And he realised that the most precious thing was real sentiments between people which could not be bought from money or power. However, when two daughters flattered him rhetoric to make him elated though all of their effort, only his youngest daughter was not fawning like others flattering to him, not afraid of contradicting him and greatly disappointed his father. Finally, she was deported out of their country under her father's anger.

The youngest daughter was kind and obedient but meanwhile stubborn and impulsive. Since she realized the nature and conspiracy, why not struggle for her position pave a way for her father later? Keep our self-respect and way doesn't do anything wrong, but sometimes people need talk and communication ,and sometimes words have more effect than action. It cannot be denied that she is happy and lives her life in love, having a lover who loves her truly which cannot be desired by her sisters. However, she is also impulsive. To crusade her sisters because her father has been treated badly by them and to die in prison after she fails, do not all these have something to do with her impulsivity? She is with the most kind heart, but it is nesessary that we should do the things in the condition that we have the full preparation. With the not ready preparation, she sent army to suppress. How could she win the battle?

Although the story happened in a remote ancient country, it has many exemplifications in our real life. We all like people who say honeyed words and praising words to us, but the result turns out that they are just the people who hurt us. This is not precisely the condemnation of those who keeps poison in the honey of the conspirators? In real life, phenomenon and essence, appearance and content tend to vary so greatly, so we can not lose sense because of the phenomenon and the appearance of to be the next King Lear. "What is shining is not all gold!" And we have our standard to scale the good and evil and to judge the true and false. Nobody is born to judge them. Life is so cruel that it is impossible for us to have such a good result as the characters in the story in the book. We need to experience these things before we can truly tell the good from the bad. We cannot lose our sense of recognizing just for the desires in our heart. Restrain the fond of sweet. How can we know the taste of sweet when we have not tasted what is bitter?
